About Taupo University

Taupo University was founded in 2015 in Taupo by a group of educators and engineers who believed that quality higher education should be accessible to the young generation of Aotearoa. Beginning with a single faculty and 180 students in the central Taupo area, the university now offers six undergraduate programs and enrolls more than 1,200 students. Our focus has always been practical: education that prepares graduates for real jobs in the technology and business sectors of New Zealand.

Since our first graduation in 2019, Taupo University alumni have gone on to work as software engineers, network administrators, accountants, and business owners across Aotearoa and beyond.
